Topic: Visual Human Motion Analysis

Speaker: Professor CHENG Li, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Alberta (UAlberta)

Date and time: 10:00–11:00, July 21

Venue: Room 1C-201, SIST

Host: HE Xuming

Abstract:

Recent advancement of imaging sensors and deep learning techniques has opened the door to many interesting applications for visual analysis of human motions. In this talk, Prof. CHENG will discuss his research efforts in addressing relevant tasks of 3-D human motion syntheses, pose and shape estimation from images and videos through video action quality assessment. Looking forward, his results could be applied to everyday life scenarios such as natural user interface, AR/VR, robotics, gaming, and others.
